About Competition
International Union of Architects (UIA) and Chamber of Architects of Turkey (CAT) have jointly organized a student competition on the occasion of the UIA 2005 Istanbul Congress. The competition aims to provide an opportunity for the future architects to demonstrate their creative powers in the face of challenging conditions by designing spaces for different functions chosen by them at places which are extraordinary in terms of their geographic location, topography, flora and climate as well as social and political conditions. The student competition, organized in each three years traditionally since 1978, has recorded the biggest number of participation: the Competition Secretariat finalized the registration of 1986 students/teams from 76 countries.
