PIT KUFFER, PHILIPP JUREWICZ, JOTA PANOTOPOULOS (Austria) Location:Variable. Extreme Situation:Today, 1.5 billion people do not have access to clean potable water. 5 million people die every year by drinking contaminated water. Proposal: A "Fog Pipe" device, which is transportable by an individual and could be made in mass production, is designed with an aim to personalize the relationship between man and water. The project demonstrates a local solution for a global problem and personalization of water leads to a different kind of relationship between man and water, a relation which is no longer abstract. Due to its X-SMALL scale the water tubes deployed in large number form an agile landmark of "water awareness" in X-LARGE cityscapes and nature environment. By becoming day to day items they also serve as a tool to create new architectural and social spaces. Therefore the "Fog Pipe" effectuates a social contribution to community. Project>> |
