KATIE SCHAKAT (Germany) Location:Los Silos, Tenerife, Canary Islands Extreme Situation:The topography composed of basaltic stone with its typical and interesting formations and the rough Atlantic Ocean of this area hitting the volcanic rocks of the coast with enormous power and energy. Proposal: A multi-functional center designed for the visitors to experience the stream of water. The vertical effect of the hitting water is transformed into a horizontal effect in the organization of spaces. The aim is to facilitate the possibility to enjoy the sea with the integration of the space into the landscape. The different states of the ocean are part of the architecture and its experiences.
