PARK JOON YOUNG (Republic of Korea)

Location:The Demilitarized Zone that was established after the Korean War (1950~1953): 4km wide x 250km long strip at the 38th parallel that separates North and South Korea.

Extreme Situation:Except for some 20 tunnels that were dug by the north for infiltration in the1970's, no humans have occupied the DMZ for over 50 years.

Proposal: By selecting the site for a History Cultural Center in four of the existing tunnels, in the zone that is latent in the Korean people's consciousness, it is hoped that a dialogue for peace can begin, and that the two can become one again.
