MONIKA KUPSTAITE (Lithuania) Location:Rumsiskes, Lithuania Extreme Situation:33 settlements including Rumsiskes were submerged into water after the construction of a hydroelectric power station in 1956. Proposal: The idea is "to uplift Rumsiskes as treasure from the sunken ship" by creating a space in the water. This method can be used to retain all the submerged villages. The ancient spirit is impersonated and strengthened; new functions such as touristic entertainment, recreational activities and religious facilities are defined. Project>> |
