ERIC SFAR, ARIANE DE MOMBRISON, ALEXIS LAGARDE, LAURENT SFAR (France) Location:Variable. Extreme Situation:The vulnerable position of refugees, who have difficulty in coping with vital needs such as housing, nourishment, sanitary conditions and medical care. Proposal: An alternative concept of shelter is proposed with the structural use of a new material: Tetrapak. Normally used for food packaging, the material is 80 % cardboard (which makes it sturdy ) and 20 % polyethylene (which assures internal and external waterproofing).The project aims to make use of large scale production material which has been discarded due to printing errors making them inappropriate for packaging. There is no need to find an expert of construction, all that a person has to do is to is to fold the material with the help of the dotted lines. Project>> |
